Gleise M. Silva joined the Department of Agricultural, Food & Nutritional Science at the University of Alberta in August 2021 as an Assistant Professor and BCRC Hays Chair in Beef Production Systems. She obtained her MS and PhD degrees at the University of Florida, where she conducted several research trials in beef cattle nutrition and management. As the BCRC - Hays Chair in Beef Production Systems at the University of Alberta, her research goals are to identify sustainable nutritional and management strategies able to enhance cattle health and performance, therefore, increasing profitability in the cow-calf sector.
