Saulo Menegatti Zoca, Assistant Professor and Extension Beef Cattle Specialist in Reproductive Management, the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. Dr. Zoca received his B.S. degree in Veterinary Science from São Paulo State University – Botucatu, Brazil in 2014. In 2018, he received his M.S. degree from the University of Idaho, and in 2021, he received his Ph.D. from South Dakota State University, both in animal science where he focused his research in reproductive physiology. After receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Zoca worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant at South Dakota State until he started as the Extension Beef Cattle Specialist in Reproductive Management with the University of Tennessee. Dr. Zoca’s research has focused on how the bull impacts overall herd fertility and development of new fertility markers for bull semen. He has experience with cattle artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis, reproductive tract evaluation for females, and bull breeding soundness exam. With UT Extension, Dr. Zoca has been involved with the UT Bull Development and Evaluation Program, the Tennessee Heifer Development Center, and the Tennessee Master Beef Program, and deliver programs and training related to advanced reproductive technologies, such as, artificial insemination and ultrasound schools.
