MSc Student
University of Alberta, Canada
I hold a bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine from La Salle University, Colombia, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Animal Science at the University of Alberta, Canada, with the privilege of serving as a Research Assistant Fellow. I am expected to start my Ph.D. at the University of Alberta with Dr. Silva during the summer of 2024. I bring valuable experience from an internship at the University of Florida, US, where I gained experience in beef cattle reproduction and molecular biology. Additionally, I have two years of experience as a Research Assistant offering agriculture solutions from a beef and dairy cattle perspective at AGROSAVIA, Colombia. I gained a diverse perspective, enhancing my educational journey during my undergraduate program at the University of Rio Grande Do Sul in Brazil. My expertise lies in cattle research, specifically in ruminant physiology and metabolism, integrating reproduction and nutrition. I am committed to exploring the impact of extreme environmental conditions on the health of beef cattle by applying molecular techniques. My goal is to contribute positively to both the industry and academia. Throughout my academic pursuits, I have consistently demonstrated a passion for advancing knowledge in veterinary and animal sciences, acquiring unique skills and insights that benefit animal and human life on the earth.
