Doctoral Graduate Research Assistant
NDSU
My name is Muhammad Anas, and I am a doctoral graduate student at North Dakota State University (NDSU), specializing in animal genomics and fetal programming. I am currently pursuing PhD in Animal Sciences under the guidance of Dr. Lauren Hanna, with co-chairing by Dr. Alison Ward, through the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor fellowship program. At NDSU, I actively engage in genomics and epigenomics research projects, with a particular focus on beef production. During my PhD, I explored reproductive, body conformation, and carcass-related traits in beef heifers using genome-wide association study approaches. Currently, I am investigating the effects of maternal nutrition on fetal epigenetic programming. My goal is to secure an academic position where I can further explore genetic selection in developing heifers and study the nutritional epigenetic impacts on their offspring.
