Sydney Fortier is a Research and Innovation Coordinator with the Beef Cattle Research Council based out of Longview, Alberta. Her passion for beef production has awarded her many opportunities and experiences within the industry. She completed a Bachelor of Agricultural Science majoring in Animal Science in 2019 at the University of Saskatchewan and recently defended her Masters of Animal Science from the University of Manitoba focused in the environmental implications of different management systems. In 2023, she was appointed as one of two North American representatives on the Youth Advisory Group for the FAO's Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock. Sydney is passionate about converting science to practical tools and resources for Canadian beef producers and empowering them with knowledge and support to ensure a sustainable future for the industry.
