Ms. Emiline Sundman is a PhD Candidate and Graduate Research Assistant at Iowa State University (ISU). Ms. Sundman’s research focus is on the behavior and welfare of livestock animals. In 2021, Ms. Sundman received her MS in Animal Physiology with a specialization in Ethology from the ISU Department of Animal Science. Her MS thesis work involved investigating ways to improve the livability of swine using environmental enrichment, focusing on the post-farrowing and post-weaning pig. Currently, Ms. Sundman is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine in the College of Veterinary Medicine. She expects to graduate in 2025 with a PhD in Population Sciences in Animal Health. Her PhD dissertation focuses on the epidemiology and behavior of chronically ill and injured feedlot cattle populations.
